OUR TARGET

5000

TREES PLANTED

TONS OF CO 2

5000

TONS OF CO2 REMOVED
FROM THE EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE
OVER 40 YEARS

We are working with the WILDLANDS Tree-preneurs to restore degraded forest, grasslands, savanna and fynbos landscapes, combating land degradation, adapting South Africa’s landscape, and preparing for climate change. Through revegetation and improved management of landscapes, the Tree-preneurs work to re-establish ecosystem function and resilience.

All the trees are planted into restoration sites ensuring the areas are suitable for the species and particular ecosystem. They also ensure that the trees are looked after and contribute to national and global targets for restoration, reforestation and carbon sequestration.

ABOUT WILDLANDS

WILDTRUST is a South African Non-Profit, Non-Government and Public Welfare Organisation established in 2004. It pursues the realisation of its vision of “A thriving and resilient world” through two core programmes: WILDLANDS and WILDOCEANS.

WILDLANDS focuses on conserving terrestrial biodiversity, empowering and uplifting communities through training and protecting wildlife. In addition, WILDLOCEANS focuses on marine conservation, advocating for healthy oceans, marine protected areas and the preservation of marine species.

From humble roots in KwaZulu-Natal, the Trust has expanded its footprint across Southern Africa, with projects as far afield as Mozambique and Comoros. WILDTRUST continues to explore innovative conservation and development pathways that underline the interconnectedness between people and the planet.

WILDLANDS is a registered Conservation Trust IT No.4329/1991/PMB
